Review of the mathematical foundations of data fusion techniques in surface metrology

چکیده
The recent proliferation of engineered surfaces, including freeform and structured surfaces, is challenging current metrology techniques. Measurement using multiple sensors has been proposed to achieve enhanced benefits, mainly in terms of spatial frequency bandwidth, which a single sensor cannot provide. When using data from different sensors, a process of data fusion is required and there is much active research in this area. In this paper, current data fusion methods and applications are reviewed, with a focus on the mathematical foundations of the subject. Common research questions in the fusion of surface metrology data are raised and potential fusion algorithms are discussed.

Form Errors in Precision Metrology: A Survey of Measurement Techniques
This paper presents an overview of foundational concepts and techniques used in metrology of form errors such as straightness, flatness, circularity, sphericity, and cylindricity. While there exists a significant body of literature on form-error metrology, to the best of our knowledge, no review paper has been written on this topic. Our aim here is to (i) present a unified view of the mathemati...
متن کاملContinuous $k$-Fusion Frames in Hilbert Spaces
The study of the c$k$-fusions frames shows that the emphasis on the measure spaces introduces a new idea, although some similar properties with the discrete case are raised. Moreover, due to the nature of measure spaces, we have to use new techniques for new results. Especially, the topic of the dual of frames which is important for frame applications, have been specified completely for the c...

متن کاملComparative Evaluation of Image Fusion Methods for Hyperspectral and Panchromatic Data Fusion in Agricultural and Urban Areas
Nowadays remote sensing plays a key role in the field of earth science studies due to some of the advantages, including data collection at a very low cost and time on a very large scale. Meanwhile, using hyperspectral data is of great importance due to the high spectral resolution. Because of some limitations, such as hyperspectral imaging technology, it suffers from a reduction in the spatial ...
